Hamilton had been the quickest of the new cars up until the untimely collision with the barriers, although he was later second-fastest for the day. His team-mate Nico Rosberg remains scheduled to hit the track on Wednesday.

Magnussen: I think his dad drove F1 in the 90's, and def. won Le Mans several times in a Corvette, so it's in the blood.  I wish him well.

Let's hope that the anteater drinks Red Bull as well as eating up Ferraris and Mercs!  Last year was dire, being polite, but this season, running 1.6s (my screen washer has more poke than that!) everyone is in the same boat, so my guess is as good as everyone else's.

My best wishes for a safe and competitive season to ALL teams.

Nearly time to put the guys on the Baiz......TRACK!

Lets hope the changes bring an end to the predictable processions of recent years. I look back to those golden years of Senna, Prost and Mansell - will we ever see their like again?

why is this written like it was Lewis' fault? it was a wing failure that caused the crash. Lazy journalism or just sh*t stirring as usual let me guess it was a a result of his showbiz life style

I think Williams will make a better show this year than they have for a good number of years.
Pat Symonds is a good engineer (Was he the only one who didn't follow Schumacher to Ferrari from Benetone?)
Of course I am rooting for the British drivers although as long as Adrian Newey is with Red Bull, they will be the ones to catch

Hate the new double points idea.  Better to make four top races during the season like tennis where they get a few more points.    I wonder if Ferrari will ever be penalised for anything?
