Juventus have launched a bid to land Robin van Persie

Arsenal have turned down a 10million euros (£8million) offer from Juventus for Dutch striker Robin van Persie, according to reports in Italy.

The 28-year-old, who scored 27 goals in all competitions for the Gunners last season, is a target of Juventus, Manchester City and Paris St Germain.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve will have to up their bid to acquire Van Persie after their first offer to secure the Holland international was rejected by the English Premier League club.

Van Persie has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer with his current contract expiring in 12 months' time.

For a player like van persie.. in his prime and with one of the best shooting techniques in the game.. thats a stupidly  low offer. As an arsenal fan itd be sad to see him go but if he wants to then twenty four million is a fair asking price. And whoever says arsenal are doomed without him, please dont be so narrow minded. We lost henry, our captain and top goalscorer, but carried on, we lost nasri and fabregas, and yet guess what, came third, our highest finish for a while now. Im not saying Arsenal will be good enough to win trophies, coz i dont think they are yet, but wenger knows how to keep us in the top four against all odds.

MSN you are seriously crap at football articles!! You always get your facts wrong! Plus half the time your writing pointless crap just for the sake of having a story. Your obviously just trying to get your 'hits' on your website up, but people will stop bothering with MSN if you don't even take time to do your research and publish accurate info!

10m is an insult, if Man C want 80m for David Silva then RvP is worth just as much... whatever happens, I hope Arsenal don't sell him on the cheap like they did Fabregas.

They're having a laugh, he's worth at least 50mill compared to Torres or Carroll!  Outscored them all in the PL and makes the likes of rooney look positively average.

The worst thing he could do is go to Man City and spend the rest of his days sitting on the bench.

8 mill is insulting for a player of his caliber, this coming from a liverpool fan, dont want to see him at city hes great but hes never going to displace aguero unless mancini sells tevez and maybe dzeko then goes 4-4-2.

Far too good to be a bit part player when hes in the peak of his career, come on Real or Barce! you know you want him!

It was 37 goals in all competitions, not 27! Also, Arsenal finished 3rd not 4th last season. £8,000,000 is unrealistic for van Persie by today's standards. He'll be 29 next month so he should have a few good seasons left in him. I don't want him to leave, but if any team is determined to take him they should offer something that does not amount to an insult both to Arsenal FC and Robin van Persie.

That is all Arteta was worth that's why. He's an un-capped 30 year old and Everton are perpetually broke... Arsenal however are not and we do not need to sell one of the best forwards in football for 8 sodding million.

Yeah 8 million for a stud off his boots..why not? Arsenal for life!

Eight mill? Bloody hell, Joan Collins put in a bigger bid than that.

Think it's funny how people are saying if he leaves, CL is not going to happen. People have been saying that about Arsenal for years and yet here we are. Consistancy at the highest level, (Yeh but you never win it!) Yeh but you got to be in it to have a chance (extra funds are nice though) We were there before RvP, we'll still be there if he goes.

Arsenalwill want a HELL of a lt more than that for him, and that's not taking into account they don't WANT to sell him.

Nowadays, with the ridiculous prices football has, I would say as an arsenal fan, keeping him for a year and selling him for free is worth £8 million. What would we do with £8 million that would help us as much as he would this season

A player with only 12 months left on his contract is not normally going to go for his true value, but Juve may start a bidding war. The big overseas clubs will get involved and it will be a case of who blinks first. RVP is a class player and I can't see the big hitters pulling out of the bidding and losing a player of his calibre because of his time left at Arsenal. They could end up with a fair return on him.

8M?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? Are they high?!??! He is worth atleast 30M with the season he just recently had, kind of retarted of Juventuns to even bother to offer such a ridiculous bid.
