Benik Afobe has yet to appear for Arsenal's first team

Arsenal have confirmed that youngster Benik Afobe has joined Championship side Reading on loan.

Afobe, 19, will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Reading, who are currently second in the Championship table.

The striker has yet to appear for Arsenal's first team, but has featured for the reserves this season after returning to fitness following a long-term injury.

Actually Deepak don't agree with you there!

Have you seen the Championship lately?

Just as competitive as the EPL if not more!!!

He'll learn a lot there without all the high profile EPL hype publicity and unnecessary pressures!

Faye, the 'priest' if you noticed brought a lot of experienced players into the squad in September to bolster the ranks, as you can see it has paid dividends (3rd spot). There's not that much room anymore in the 1st team to play more 'boys' and the lad needs competitive games which to be fair he aint getting in the reserves.

'Starlet' is a media label, maybe you need to speak to MSN

Question, with the priests record of playing the boys, surely at 19, if he's a "starlet" he'd have already been around the 1st team & at least made his debut?

Surely starlet is the wrong term, or is every youngster in the academies of the top 6 now starlets?  Nothing against the lad, just an observation, sure you goonerboys'll explain...
