"Why Always Me?" asks the man who let off fireworks in his bathroom, scored a goal with his shoulder and has now been sent off three times this season.
A man who never shuns the limelight always makes great copy for the press, but a player who rarely looks in the mood is one who is unlikely to be a league champion come June.
Balotelli can be a match winner, but he can also be a match loser. And Champions shouldn't need to rely on the former and definitely can't carry the latter.
Whilst I may be a Utd fan I am a lover of football and I am happy to watch City, Liverpool or anyone on the box for that matter. I dont consider myself to be one of the totally bias fans. On a good day City would beat Utd with their best 11 and Arsenal would play more attractive football with their best 11. However here's the crunch it's a Marathon not a race and City and Arsenal are either brilliant or rubbish. There are not enough of the mediocore performances. Consistency is the key and neither are consistant enough. Yes Utd may get the odd hammering and may fail in Europe but there is a better team spirit and desire to perform on a more consistent level.
Utd have spent big in the past but you could never say they have tried to buy the title, they have always had a good mix of youth coming through, some bargains and the odd big name signing here and there. City have gone hell for leather and tried to buy the title, they have ended up with a team of money grabbers not interested in the cause of this great club. They do not deserve to wear the Sky Blue of City.
I am sad that City havent pushed Utd to the wire it would have made for a more interesting finale. To be honest if Utd can land Sneider or Sweinsteiger I don't see City winning next season either no matter who they sign.
I will tell you why City might not win the league this season and it has nothing to do with all the distactions around the place, it has to do with results.
Remember the battering we gave Sunderland only for them to win with the last kick of the game? 3 points lost. At Swansea we lost 1-0, another 3 points lost! change these 2 results and this rubbish list by MSN doesn't happen because City are 1 point ahead with 5 games to play. So instead of all this nonsense about the season falling apart because of the points listed above, let's be very clear, change 2 results and the season looks very different.
I have to be fair to the red devils though and say that the reason United will win the league is that they would have found a way to win those 2 games i mentioned above. That's the difference. CTID.
The writer of this piece will have serious egg on his face if things turn around!
There are some really good posts here. hfjstdu, Daz b , Melvyn Mc. and Paul.
Danny Clarke usual piffle.
Stephen Hughes. The mercenary/lack of commitment idea is hardly original, ut at least you throw a number at the concept. It would be interesting to hear you name names. 60-70% of the team?? Lets hear it.
They will be failures again next season if they don't bring some type of harmony to the squad and club ( ah la Newcastle ), next season , I'm sure all the top teams will strengthen with players in the main ,,,knowing the privilege they have to be playing for the likes of M.U , LIVERPOOL , TOTTENHAM , CHELSEA , NEWCASTLE ARSENAL , ( EVEN swansea if they get a true goal scorer ! ) M. C's players, getting the salaries they get , are they truly in it for the right reasons ??????? my guess 30 / 40 % of them are , the rest don't give a toss !
With all the talent available, Citeh have woefully under-achieved in 2012. Much of the blame must be laid at Mancini's feet. Would SAF have put up with Tevez and Balotelli antics, you bet he wouldn't. Citeh won't win the league under this man and need a manager with the mental strength to go the distance.
The current incumbent at Real Madrid fits the bill.
