Falcao unfazed by City and Chelsea bid talk

Atletico Madrid celebrate Falcao's opener, Atletico Madrid v Celtic, Europa League, Vincente Calderon stadium, Madrid, Spain, September 15, 2011

Radamel Falcao has enjoyed a hugely successful debut campaign with Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has cooled talk of a summer move to Manchester City or Chelsea.

Colombia striker Falcao, 26, has been a huge success in Europe since arriving from River Plate in 2009, helping Porto to league and Europa League success last season and hitting 26 goals in 37 games for Atletico in the current campaign.

That form has seen talk of a move to the Premier League resurface, but Falcao insists he is happy with life at the Vicente Calderon.

"The press said that Manchester City and Chelsea want me, but I am calm about this," he said. "I know La Liga is watched all across the world and it is normal that if I do good work many clubs watch me, but I insist now I am only focused on obtaining success with Atletico."

He added: "My move to Atletico was a personal choice and I am satisfied because La Liga is the best in the world."

Atletico Madrid are currently seventh in the table, five points behind fourth-placed Malaga.

Falcao is one of the best strikers i have ever seen no joke. His runs are near perfect, his finishing pin point and he always seems calm. Playing for Plate wasnt really doing him too much good as he needed to be in one of the big leagues such as England or Spain. I dont imagine that italian or german football would really suit his style of play but i would love to see him in the premeirship. I believe he would excel the most at Arsenal due to their quick fire play.

Falcao is too frail to play in the Premiership. You have to be built like an outside bog house to survive. Most of the action is down in the tunnel before and after the match. Fists, elbows and studs are the main weapons. Why would Falcao want to put up with that pressure when he can have a gay old time at the Vicente Calderon?
