Gignac wants to join Manchester United, not Everton

Andre-Pierre Gignac leaves the pitch, Olympique de Marseille v Arsenal, UEFA Champions League, Velodrome Stadium, Marseille, October 19, 2011

Andre-Pierre Gignac wants to move to Manchester United

Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac has claimed he turned down Everton because he believes his current side are "bigger and more attractive".

Gignac, 26, has been linked with the Premier League in the past, and indeed expressed disappointment when a summer move to Fulham failed to come to fruition, but he has now said he would not want to leave France unless one of the world's leading clubs expressed an interest.

"Everton is a top club in England but for me Marseille is bigger and more attractive," Gignac said. "I want to play one day abroad but at a bigger club like the Manchester Uniteds of this world."

France international Gignac has struggled to live up to expectations since leaving in Toulouse in 2010 but he said: "I do want to make a name for myself at Marseille. I love the club."

Don't see how you can say we've all been nicely taken NATTY, one person said they would like to see him at our club, then the conversation moved to midfield.   I've come to the conclusion about you, that you think your some kind of hierarchy, when really your just a t*t.   What was it you said when your own team drew with Bolton....... Oh yes. No comment!   So you seem to have plenty to say when other people have an opinion, but have no real opinion's of your own.  Your a joke.

Quite so, we have plenty of great strikers at the moment

with young Keane waiting in the wings, midfield is the place to

strengthen, Hazard and the young Swiss from Basel would fit the bill

they are both young and hungry for success, forget Snyder

money means more than prestige to him

I think Sneijder is too old now. There is no point paying £30 million for a 27 year old when you can get the likes of Hamsik or Hazard for the same amount. Rodwell or M'vila would be good as midfield enforcers.

Not sure about having plenty of great strikers, but we have enough to get by on at the moment. We need mifield and defence more. 2 good players mentioned in Hazard and Shiqiri from Basle but there is also Marek Hamsik who has great potential, I think we have enough Defenders, the likes of jones, smalling, da silva's need games to mature so just need injury's to settle and will be fine. Just too little creativity in centre of the park.

Agree paul he's a descent player, just feel there's other positions that need sorting first like midfield and maybe some cover for left and right back.

Peitro your right in the fact that Hamsik will be 30mill+ but both Hazard and shaqiri your looking at abt 25mill with hazard probably being a bit more. I wouldnt want sneijder as another overpaid, arrogant footballer who wont fit in with the ethics of utd.

I think that we will be signing Rodwell in the summer but Ganso will be available for 15-20 mill.

Peitro Massa - Once again you are very wrong. Hazard has a far far bigger price tag on his head than you realise. And Snejider is top class and you are only saying you don't want him because he has gone on record recently stating he doesn't want to play for your club.

if we do sign Rodwell i hope we sign one of the others aswell

need some gile which Rodwell does'nt have

You've all been nicely taken in by another textbook media misquote folks. The headline is not what he said at all. " One day abroad but at a bigger club like the Manchester United's of this world...". Quite a big generalisation really, he could mean any one of the 4 "big leagues". If he was a target for you I think Ferguson would have identified him by now.

Timothy, Mi Amichi

Hamisk is a good player and will get much better, but im afraid

Napoli will not let him go for much less than 35mill

and we all know SAF wont pay that kind of cash right now

and other two are much more gettable

Would love to see this fella at United. He was a pretty useful player at Toulouse and has shown some good play whilst at Marsielle. If Berba was to leave he could be a good replacement, not a direct replacement as such but at 26 he's got some good years on him and ahead of him and I feel he wouldn't cost that much, maybe £8 mil roughly?
