'I cannot score' - Torres

Fernando Torres sees an inventive attempt saved, Norwich City v Chelsea, Premier League, Carrow Road, January 21, 2012

Fernando Torres has scored five goals for Chelsea

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has conceded that he must improve his game if he is to silence his critics and rediscover his form in front of goal.

Torres has scored just five goals for Chelsea since moving from Liverpool in a £50 million deal just over a year ago and has not found the back of the net in the Premier League since September 24.

"To be honest, after one year I was expecting things would be better than they are now," Torres told ESPN. "It is a difficult situation because I am happy in my personal life. We really like the club and we're very happy here to be involved with the staff and the players.

"On the pitch, it is a difficult time for Chelsea because we are not finding the results, but we're changing things like playing a different style and still we have a young team to do it.

"Personally, I have to improve. In my time at Liverpool there were games where I would not be playing well or I would be doing nothing but every time I touched the ball, I scored. It's such a strange feeling now because I am feeling better than ever physically. I am not finding the chances and when I do find the chances, I cannot score

"My present and my future are here. I have many things to do here and I want to do it because I always did what I wanted in every club I've been at, so this is not going to be different."

I always got the feeling that Chelsea's opponents, backed up by the Press and Media, were s*** scared he'd do well and so they slated him. That must have affected him as well as trying to ballet dance to AVB's tune. What credit did he get for all of his assists - none. What credit did he get for his goal against Barcalona - about a line and a half at the end of each newspaper column . What credit will he get for his hat trick = probably the same, along with all the proverbial stuff about his price tag. Cometh the hour, cometh the man - a lot of people out there are going to end up looking real silly. Keep a BIG eye out for the £50 Million flop!!!!!!!!

One move doesn't make a bad player. He is still off the mark by a fair bit, though you can't fault him for effort. It's crazy how things turn out for some players. Think of flo when he went to rangers for 12 million, and never really set the world on fire.  In contrast Chris Sutton for 6 million and did very well. It never happened for Sutton athough he was never a bad player in my eyes.  Torres is getting there and  even if it he doesn't then he will prosper elswhere .

Jez Chelski, why does it always =£££££££ to you guys. "hes paid us back". If you are happy with him then good on ya, if not, sell him. Lets not forget that Liverpool replaced torres with a certain Suarez. Take ya pick. By God, even Carrol has scored more than Torres and not many lfc fans too happy with the end product.

Good luck for FA final, hoping for a great game of footy.

omg you don't tell me, so what's new!

Just a mardy 'rse when he coudn;t get the ball, it didnt't cross his mind to go back and help out, just wait on the forward line and hope. not a team player at all, and next season won't be any idfferent, and i can see bayern whupping their @rses altho' i would like to see them win, but i have my doubts with torres in the squad, it's like playing with 10 men from the start

What makes me laugh are the people saying he paid back his 50mill by scoring the other day. You do realise you were going through on away goals anyway don't you?

my son who is 18 and play local football plays better and scores more goals then him!!

If he scores the winning goal in the Champions League final he would have paid his transfer fee back in one go....he is under no pressure whatsoever at Chelsea from the club or the fans....he's still a class player.

Torres was a great player for liverpool but an awful player for chelsea he should just leave. Moreover, whoever is that someone guess what liverpool may be going down hill but at least they have won something this year in 5-6 years whereas arsenal hasn't won anything for about 7-8 years.

@ADRIAN>>> as poor as  Carrol has been this season, he has scored more than mardy @rse torres, an lets face it a 10 yr old could have scored into barca's empty net

Torres scored 2 goals against Leicester in the cup and all of a sudden he is striker of the year,??? and then what nothing til last night,  we haven't missed him at LFC. he only went for the money and thought he was a better player than he was, well we are well rid of him

Well done Chelsea , you deserved the win with 10 men shows you can beat anyone in the final, super performance and i hope you go on to bring the cup back to ENGLAND.
