Adam Johnson has withdrawn from the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers due to injury.

The Sunderland winger had a scan on Wednesday after picking up a minor thigh injury, and has returned to his club for treatment.

The recent signing from Manchester City will not feature in Friday's Group H match in Moldova or Tuesday's home game against Ukraine.

how unlucky for him he must be gutted, he'll get plenty more chances if he performs for Sunderland this season.

Wish him a quick recovery

The frequency in which  first choice players withdraw from England squads because of ' Injury ' must be  quite worrying for the selectors not to mention the fans who pay in advance to watch England's finest not the best of the rest.
