Liverpool complete Allen signing
Joe Allen will team up with his former boss Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Swansea midfielder Joe Allen.
The midfielder was at Anfield on Thursday night to watch the Reds' 3-0 Europa League third qualifying round second leg win over FC Gomel. And, after Reds manager Brendan Rodgers revealed the move was "imminent", the 22-year-old has now passed a medical to seal his switch to the Merseyside giants.
Allen told his new club's official website, www.liverpoolfc.com: "I feel incredible. Everyone knows the history of this club, it's a massive club, and I'm delighted to have joined."
He added: "The passion that people here have for football is something I share and I want to be part of that.
"I'm looking forward to being part of some great years ahead for Liverpool."
Rodgers said: "I'm absolutely delighted Joe has made the decision to come with us on this journey.
"He is a player whose profile will fit perfectly with the ideas of this group.
"His ability to control and dominate the ball is an important ingredient in our attempt to gain success on the field.
"Joe has had a fantastic education at Swansea and will now begin the next chapter in his exciting career, and I wish him all the very best in what I'm sure will be a long and distinguished career here at Liverpool."

Another potential good signing. BR is clearly laying some young foundations to which he can build the team around. Stevie G, Carra and the likes of those are not going to be around forever.
Give the manager a chance and all will come good.
crap crap crap crap give rogers a chance not even started the season and as always we have the usual
muppets on here slagging liverpool off as always last two games in europa league weve won maybe not against a big team but a win is a win and is important in every succes for liverpool. i **** you lot that are slagging lfc off all no that any club could get to the top of the league nw manure arnt as good as they was they are an extra time team that win games on fergy time its open for the taking play well and your at the top simply as if you dont have anything positive to say about lfc then why bother giving the crap out its just sad . The Brienator: I agree with most of your points particularly on Henderson.
However, Rogers has a way of playing football that most neutral observers admired last season and Joe Allen was integral to that. He has an ability to take the ball under pressure, then keep and distribute it. Unlike Charlie Adam, he can get around the pitch quickly and use the ball simply rather than look for the Hollywood Pass.
I'd have thought it is good to have someone who already knows the new managers philosophy and has thrived under it? Also, of all the players he could have gone back for he chose Allen. That should say something.
Just my opinion. You could be right and he turns out to be terrible at LFC as some players are when going to a big club.
And if the result is the 'Pool play the same style of football as Swansea did last year, but with a stronger team, it would be football I'll enjoy watching, providing City at least match them when we're playing each other!
LFC very good signing in joe allen i think he will do well as do real LFC fans so come on joe
