Naismith joins Everton

Steven Naismith has left troubled Rangers to join Everton
Everton have completed the free transfer of former Rangers striker Steven Naismith.
The Scotland international has signed a four-year deal after he terminated his contract with the soon-to-be-liquidated Scottish side, having rejected the chance to move over to the newco club.
Naismith, 25, will now join up with his new team-mates for the start of pre-season training this week.
"It is a great honour to be joining a club of Everton's wonderful history and to have the chance to play with such a talented group of players in the world's best league in front of such a passionate group of fans," Naismith told evertonfc.com.
"I look forward greatly to working with the manager David Moyes and all the staff at Everton and working hard to deliver on the pitch to repay their, and the chairman Mr (Bill) Kenwright's, faith and belief in me."
Moyes was keen to add greater strength to the forward line and believes Naismith will fit in well at Goodison Park.
"We are delighted that Steven has agreed to join us," said the Scot.
"He will be an excellent addition to the players we already have and we look forward to him being fit and ready to play at the start of the season.
"He is an established international who can play in a number of positions.
"He has a flexibility we always like in our players and which will hopefully prove to be very useful for us."

Good luck to Naismith, I'm a Liverpool fan but have to say with this signing, and Donovan probably coming back you can see why when any top jobs come up David Moyes name is always linked (not sure there are many other managers others able to work so efficiently on a tighter budget than most), just glad he's remained loyal to the blues.
Calm down evertonians . There is already a big 5. City, United, arsenal , chelsea, and spurs, No doubt this signing will make you stronger but not better than any of those teams,
But that should help to put you top of the next 3 teams of newcasltle everton and alas my team LFC who so far have failed to sign any one and seem content to just try and not loose any players. and will prob finish 8th again.
This should be a great season for the blue side of liverpool but you wont break the top 5 just yet. Bit of silverwear though???????? could be.
P.S and im gonna get it in the ear for this one.WE NEED A JOINT 80,000 - 90,000 seater stadium in liverpool this would enable the reds and blues to comepte with city and united. neither club can afford a decent stadium on their own . The reds will end up with a measly 60,000 seater and everton 50,000 if your lucky to get anything at all.
Anyway i look forward to hearing all the people shout and scream at me for my comments
so what you celtic fans are saying is ,
you hope you are playing in a league where you win every single game by 5 goals and have no competition what so ever.have no big games. you lose all your star players because they have no challenge and no money because the gates are down because every one is bored of watching Celtic win every single game.
David Moyes is one of the best managers around and i think and hope he will replace Fergie at Utd in a couple of years. He has made many good signings for next to nothing and has developed a very good youth and scouting proggrames. Hopefully half his squad won't be fit for the first day of the season as Goodison Park is a very tough place to go to, thanks to Moyes. Everton will be challenging for Europe this season, no doubt. Oh and Naismith should work out well too, should strike up quite a partnership with Jelavic again.
In reply to Ian Harvey if your a fan of the team which plays at SHANFIELD as it was known last year and i think you are BIG BRENDAN will have you back where you belong in the championship. You lot go on about KING KENNY was more like a bloody JESTER last season, lets face it your a one player club if STEVIE G aint playing pool aint playing by the way STEVIE G is a blues fan,as for DAVID MOYES he`s a man of few words he lets his actions do the talking NAISMITH wanted to come to everton because of JELAVIC plus the history of the club another good bit of wheeling and dealing by moyes im a bluenose through and through hope AVB dosen`t rate Steve Pienaar DM might pick him up cheap to the difference between Everton and Liverpool is easy to see Everton have 11 grafters on the pitch not 11 primadonnas 134 years of topflight football EFC the PEOPLES CLUB COYB IMWT.
