Sinclair and Maicon move to City
Scott Sinclair has agreed a deadline-day move to champions Manchester City
Manchester City have completed the signing of winger Scott Sinclair from Swansea for an undisclosed fee.
Sinclair, 23, excelled in South Wales after struggling to make the breakthrough at Chelsea. He was an integral part of the side which earned promotion to the top flight in 2011 and also impressed on their opening season in the Barclays Premier League.
City have also recruited experienced Brazil full-back Maicon from Inter Milan, with the 31-year-old also signing for an undisclosed fee. Maicon was one of five new faces manager Roberto Mancini was hoping to bring into his squad on transfer deadline day.
Sinclair is looking forward to playing in the Champions League following his move to Eastlands.
"I'm just glad everything is settled and that I'm now a City player," said Sinclair.
"There were times when I thought it might not happen so I'm relieved that I'm here and I can't wait to get started. Playing alongside some of the best players in the world is exciting for me and when you see two Champions League fixtures against Real Madrid on the horizon, it brings it all home."
Maicon is familiar with Mancini having worked under him for two seasons at the San Siro.
He was available for a possible cut-price deal as he was in the final year of his contract with Inter. Mancini denied an interest in the player last week but was a little more forthcoming when he spoke to press to preview this weekend's game against QPR.
The Italian said: "We are talking about one top player in Maicon, because he has experience."
Maicon has previously played for Cruzeiro and Monaco and won 66 caps for his country. He will join up with his new team-mates when he returns from international duty next week.

Thanks for all you did at Swansea.
what are city doing, adam johnson is better than this guy.....does he really think that he wont warm the bench either, and they sold de jong......man city just got weaker.....hmmmmmm maybe they are trying to get there wage bill down
Can't understand why City let Adam Johnson go - He's better than some who are still there - anyone else got a good reason? And what happed to that guy they signed towards the end of last season - Pizarro?
Nice comment Khrys.
If you watched City week in and week out, you'd know AJ is a MOTD player. He's scored some good goals but most haven't mattered much. He doesn't work hard enough on the pitch and he's a boozer off it. Not Mancini's type of player at all. Scott Sinclair is faster and works and trains harder.
Pizarro was on loan.
Time will tell, but Maicon may be the most astute bit of business in this whole window. Richards is out for several weeks again and is starting to look like he's glass. Maicon can be cover and will score goals from RB position and can fill in as more creative DM than De Jong who wanted a lot more money despite not playing much. Much as we all loved De Jong, Garcia is an upgrade.
