Will Andre Villas-Boas pick Gary Cahill against Manchester United
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that the possibility of Jose Mourinho being available in the summer has made him nervous about his own position at the club.
Mourinho caused a stir last weekend, after reports emerged indicating the Real Madrid manager had grown tired of life at the Spanish club and would look for a job in England - where he spent three successful years with the Blues - at the end of the current campaign.
Villas-Boas has seen first-hand how clubs clamour for Mourinho's signature whenever he is looking for a new job - having been a member of his backroom staff at Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan prior to treading his own managerial path - and admits that he would worry about the chances of his mentor making a return to Stamford Bridge at his expense.
"At the moment, there is not a vacancy at this club, that is the most important thing," Villas-Boas said. "And the Real Madrid manager is not available at the moment. He's tied to the best club in the world.
"The only thing I can say is that I have lived Jose's availability when we were out of Chelsea and we know and I know how many clubs came knocking on our doors.
"So, a manager of Jose's dimension and the number one in the world will always be an attractive target for whatever club."
With a return to the Premier League believed to be a priority for Mourinho, Villas-Boas believes a number of managers around the league will share his concern about their own job security.
"Because he's a manager that makes himself available to return to his beloved England will for sure capture the interests of City, United and Chelsea and Tottenham and Liverpool and Arsenal, and so on and so forth," he added. "So, in that sense, we are all under pressure, from [Roberto] Mancini to [Sir Alex] Ferguson to me to [Kenny] Dalglish to Harry Redknapp and so on."
More immediately, however, Villas-Boas has to focus on getting his team ready to face Manchester United over the weekend. With John Terry absent through injury he has to evaluate whether to give Gary Cahill his first Blues start - and also identify who will replace the suspended Ashley Cole at left-back.
"First, we cannot be crying out," Villas-Boas said. "Man United will miss players for sure, important players. We have important players out as well but we have a very big squad, which enables us to go on and try to win the game and approach it in a positive way.
"So that's what we'll try to do, whoever is involved."

the slagging off and racism comments seem to have nothing to do with the topic but innocent until proven guilty.
On topic ...... usual tripe from all those that would LOVE their team to be owned by RA. A man that has put his OWN funds into his beloved team.....unlike the debt laden manure and scouseland. Avb like any manager should be looking over his shoulder as their jobs are based on RESULTS no winning no job (unless your arsene of course) As for the special one.....he left cos he didnt get the backing and decisions to buy players seemed to be taken out of his hand. Remember sidwell, pizarro and a couple of others that Jose stated openly 'give me 'b' rated players and you get a b rated team. Hopfully RA has learned and the FERRARI was a nice gesture. But was getting rid of JOSE a mistake , we did the douple the following year and reached the champs league final runners up in the league and won the FA CUP with grant , carlo and hiddink.....all you other muppets who crave success , if chelsea's season ends with nothing it IS A failure unlike most other teams that are USE to winning nothing.....THANKS RA........come home jose , all is forgiven.

Popping up like a mushroom in a s*** heap as soon as Chelsea are mentioned.
Two points Chris; Where do you get your information that RA is fed up?
How are the second most successful PL team deemed to be a failure?
Your posts are repetetive and have no basis in fact. Your jealousy is very transparent and you don't even try to vary the same old tripe; Abramovich fed up, Chelsea for sale, old mercenary team, failures blah, blah, blah and with not a decent argument to back any of this up.
Yet more speculation about chelsea managers going and who will replace them, AVB has every right to be worried about his position whether or not Mourinho would consider coming back or not however I think Chelsea's problems go way beyond the manager but unfortunately the buck stops with the manager. Both Terry and Lampard are way past their best and have been for a couple of seasons and the 50 million donkey we bought from Liverpool appearing week in and week out on the pitch is also a problem we need to be buying a couple of young defenders and midfield players or using some of the squad that are nothing but bench warmers. Until these problems are addressed we will remain to be struggling to stay in European football and fighting for scraps in the domestic league
@Clive, your an Uncle Tom Clive. The fact that you have told me that your the only Black man in your place of work and you have to prove to them that your not a criminal, says how mixed up in the head you are.
Your an uncle Tom clive. Coming on her and saying if JT is not found guilty by the CPS he can really do them for every penny they got. means your mentally backing John Terry. Go and read a book on the Great Marcus Garvey before you keep on coming back to me with your uncle tom self, saying can you please explain yourself. Go and read some books on Black History. Put away your books on Charles D and the War of the Roses. go and read a book called Roots.
Danny
you never fail to amuse me with what you write, can you explain what you are talking about in a way that makes sense to normal people.
you try and come across as intelligent when in reality you are a complete idiot, you write what you think is good in your head, but come across as a complete plonker.
why not just give up and stay quiet,
it says you wrote your comment 16hrs ago, I was out having a life 16 hours ago, do you know what a life is?
and Danny just to calm your concerns if you dont hear from me anytime soon, I'm taking my daughter out to our gun club so she can fire her rifle and be taught how to be responsible with it etc etc, she wants to enter competitions just like pops, what you doing today?
@Clive,, the fact that you have come on here so early and responded to my comments says it all Tom. Go and read some books on the Great Marcus Garvey. Clive had a good work at work, proving to people that he is not a criminal. He is the only Black man in his place of work and does not find this concerning, I am on to you Clive/Tom. Stop attempting to talk for people and I am not the only person on here that thinks your an uncle Tom. As you can see some people have voted.
What if he did come back? Always be open to what IF. For example what if Clive was Black on the side also. Would he look at the facts as to why JT lost his armband before coming on here and supporting him. Clive is the male vision of the black woman in the film Gone With the Wind. Oh yes master. coming right up master.
@Seamie
Why do I need to apologise?, Danny Clarke as a very unhealthy obsession with me and I find it very amusing, but he continues to spout complete and utter crap which most people who write on here will agree, even his fellow Man U fans are embarrassed by him
Can you honestly make any sense of anything he writes?
Michael Cull
Typical tripe from an envious Chelsea hater. You are another of these individuals who appears to have privileged access to Abramovichs inner circle as you seem to know his future financial plans. And if they are third rate what does that make the majority of the rest of the league?
Also, you make sweeping claims that they are racists, adulterers and bullies. Not as individuals, but as a team?? Really?? All of them??
Honestly Michael you should check what you have writen before posting as it makes you look none too bright
As much as I appreciate how with Ranieri, Mourinihio helped to make us a world class club side I cannot see him returning to Chelsea.
For the last couple of seasons prior to Jose arriving at Real Madrid, Wenger was continuously linked with Real Madrid and with both managers being supposedly available in the summer, I could see next season starting with Wenger at Madrid and Mouriniho at Arsenal............
