Dream in Goodwood equation

Field Of Dream

Field Of Dream

Jamie Osborne is keen on the idea of running Field Of Dream in the Betfred Mile at Glorious Goodwood next week but his participation is not certain yet.

The five-year-old stormed home late to win the International Stakes at Ascot last weekend. He would only have to carry a 3lb penalty at Goodwood and as he has been raised 5lb by the handicapper for his success, Osborne believes it could be right to strike while the iron is hot.

"I wouldn't have thought he'd be a certain runner until the middle of next week, we'll just give him a chance, it's a bit tight 13 days and we don't want to go to the well once too often, you've got to be careful," said Osborne.

"In saying that, he's only got a 3lb penalty and has gone up 5lb so it makes sense to run when he's 2lb well-in.

"He couldn't run off that mark in the future but he wouldn't go if the ground got slow, he proved at Sandown he's just not as effective on slow ground.

"He's got to get through next week first."
