Goodwood's ground remains officially good ahead of the start of the Glorious meeting on Tuesday despite a deluge of rain.

The track was hit by rainfall on Sunday morning, but clerk of the course Seamus Buckley is happy with its condition.

"We had a very heavy shower this morning, which went on for about half an hour. Up to 4pm we have had 3.5 millimetres of rain and we are forecast more showers this evening," he said on Sunday afternoon.

"I am very happy with the condition of the track and the rain we have had today means there is no jar in the ground.

"I will look again in the morning to see if we need to water any more before the meeting starts."
