Whoever wrote this is confused.  Rebecca Adlington hasn't won medals in 3 consecutive games.  She didn't compete in 2004 and was only 15 at the time.  It's a fantastic achievement though to come back 4 years after winning gold to win another medal.  Well done Becky.

Fantastic and well done. Ignore the knockers on here most of whom would sink in whatever they attempted.

Well done Rebecca! and good luck to all athletes yet to perform.

The problem with England is that the media puts to much pressure on our athletes , the pundits say we should win a medal here and there , the papers say we should win so many golds and the television says the same.

The Olympics is what it is.........thousands of athletes around the world competing for a medal in their event. THIS IS WHERE BBC IS GOING WRONG IN THEIR BROADCASTING.

Everytime i put the olympics on they dont show anything without a British athlete involved only the finals (and if they have to do that they quickly move on to another event ) and they spend more time talking about the british athlete who lost rather than the Olympic winner!!!......this is the world taking part not just Great Britain!...yes i expect this to be a little bias ......but this is the WORLD GAMES with all the world watching !

Well done to her, she did really well, but the problem is that once again, the british media heap massive pressure by saying she would win gold. This was the same as Cavendish, who was hyped by the british media to get gold. Incredible athletes that are given unnecessary pressure by the media

well done to Rebecca on getting a medal in what isn't actually her best event.
and while we are on the subject... how come she wasn't made a Dame after the last Olympics??
Kelly Holmes was after winning 2 golds, so where is the difference???
we seem to devalue these "awards" (obe, cbe etc) by giving them to people who win something they are getting paid to take part in, so fairs fair, give it to Adlington if you give it to Holmes!!

Well done Rebecca. Can't help noticing the empty seats on the pics - however

Reall gutsy swim. Another couple of lengths and she would have won it

If there has been another length to go she would have won...well done Rebecca, you are a true champion.
