Fantastic Games, but in My Opinion they should not extinguish the flame and end the Olympic Games until the Parra Olympics are over too, the spectacular finally to the UNITED KINGDOM's 2012 games was a spectacular Insult to all the disadvantaged people who are about to hold a SEPARATE event…

We are all in it together;  Well, except you that is..

Gary Barlow, so so brave to be at the Olympic ceremony and sing Rule the World, I cried all the way through as it is my little boys song, he was also born sleeping, my thoughts are with you and your family at this heartbeaking time, you did your little girl so proud.

I believe that the Olympics was not about the opening or closing ceremonies but the athletes taking part and they did everyone proud in this country and in their own countries. They were brilliant and also the volunteers and not forgetting the army as they had to put up with a lot. They should all get a medal as they have earned it by 100%.

I HAVE LIVED IN SPAIN FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS AND HAVE WATCHED AS THE UK HAS SUNK LOWER AND LOWER IN ALMOST EVERYTHING - THE LIST OF PROBLEMS IS ENDLESS BUT FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS THE BRITISH PEOPLE HAVE AT LAST STOOD UP AND SHOWED THE WORLD THAT WE ARE CERTAINLY NOT FINISHED AND YOU GUYS PUT ON THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH (PROBABLY THE BEST THERE WILL EVER BE ) - THE BEST THING ABOUT IT WAS THAT IT LOOKED EFFORTLESS - EVERYTHING WENT OFF ON TIME IN THE STATE OF THE ART VENUES - PERFECT ORGANIZATION - OUR ATHLETES PERFORMED SUPERBLY - IF I WAS A JAPANESE BUSINESSMAN THINKING ABOUT INVESTING IN EUROPE I KNOW WHERE MY MONEY WOULD GO AFTER THIS !!

WELL DONE SEB AND ALL HIS TEAM - ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !!

There were highs and lows with the closing ceremony but Gary Barlow showed he is a true professional for being there in spite of he and his wife's recent tragedy. Well done Gary and my heart goes out to you, your wife and family.

Big up London! Olympic Games 2012
Big up to all the people that worked together to pull it off!
We were the centre of the universe for 2 weeks and we did a grand job.
A proud Londoner.

As a great man once said, When you're tired of London, you're tired of life.

Yep............Apart from the first few mnutes of the closing ceremony I thought the "show" was fantastic and as an engineer I know what work actually went in to buiding what was technically THE BEST light show I have ever seen. The audio oscillograph effect was astounding ,I would love to know just How many Light Emiting Diodes they used alone? Also the 3D Brodcasts by the BBC were"bang on" quality wise , you could see every hole  in a microphone every hair on a person's chin and in my opinion worth the license money just for that. We still lead the rest of the world in technlogy only matched this year by our British Athletes who were MANIFICENT!

If you want a glimpse at the real legacy, scroll to the top of this page and check out the Mc Donalds advert. nothing like a junk food multi-national to inspire youngsters to take up sport. Watch them continue to cynically link sporting asperations to their junk. Wonder how many big macs mo farah tucked into to get in shape. Next olympics will probably end with the mc marathon. Shame they've banned tabbacco advertising, they'd have been ideal.

Have to say, personally the highlights of the closing ceramony were Jessie J singing "It not about the money" whilst pulling up in a £300,000 Bentley Continental (LOL at the irony). And Boris Johnson getting down with his bad self to the Spice Girls.

But on a serious note, absolutely amazing 16 days of sport, every last Olympian can be proud of themselves, incredible job to everyone involved in it, truly makes me proud to be British and will live long in my memory :D

Bit worried after watching Beijing Olympics, "How can we follow that"? But no worries the opening and closing ceremony were fab, and the athletes and games on a whole did the country proud.

Lennon tribute was amazing, awesome tribute for an awesome man, but, I dont know how he personally would have liked it, John after all was John, his own man with his own ideas, but a fitting tribute.

London did the country proud as did all of TEAM GB! not to mention the excellent volunteers from all over GB ...WELL DONE!!

Job Done!!!!

To all those whingers and po faced complainers and permanently angry people who love to share their misery do share what you would of done.  It's obvious nothing anyone else did was good enough so share your expertise and incredible good taste and tell us all what we should of seen.

Again a bit bonkers but quintessentially British. Is it just me or was the Only Fools and Horses Batman and Robin recreation slightly awkward?
