Fourth basketball gold, Sydney 2000

Teresa Edwards became the most decorated basketball player in Olympic history when helping the United States win gold in Sydney in 2000 at the age of 36.
Edwards made her debut at the Games in Los Angeles in 1984 as America's women scooped gold for the first time, and she was part of the team that defended their title four years later.
Edwards, a former collegiate star at the University of Georgia, had to settle for bronze in 1992 - but the USA returned to the top of the podium for the next two Games to leave the playmaking guard on a total of four gold medals and a bronze.
She was named the USA basketball player of the year in both 1987 and 1991.
