Elizabeth Armitstead has won Team GB's first medal of the 2012 Olympics, claiming silver in the women's cycling road race.
Battling it out on the rain-soaked streets of London, Armitstead rode a fantastic race to cross the line behind Marianne Vos.
"I'm a bit shocked... I'm so happy it came off," a breathless Armitstead said afterwards, crediting her decision to go with the early breakaway.
Bronze was taken by Russian Olga Zabelinskaya who was the third member of a breakaway group that held off the chasing pack for the final hour of the race.
"Lizzie did a really good job in the break and she also had a good sprint but I'm really happy with the win," said Vos
