Absolutely Amazing Grand Opening!!!! Made me really proud!! And I'm not even British!! I honestly enjoyed the "History", the "High Culture Level", the "Humour", the "Setup" the... the... the... ...

Absolutely Stunning Quality and Wise/Clever Production!!!! What can I say about the Royalty and the Celebrities and the Performers and the Crowds of Volunteers... all Peeeerfect!!!! The Queen... so bold to jump from the sky and so humble to accept to participate, Mr Bond... so good in his job and so protective, Mr Bean... always so "unimaginable", unpredictable and unbeatable, Mr Beckham... so "gentlemanish" (forgive my grammar) !! THANK YOU ALL so much! You made us laugh n' weep n' cheer n' shout n' scream... you made us feel all sorts of emotions and... made us PROUD!! (I wonder how I'd feel if I was English myself!). But I'm so proud I live in this country!

And I wonder why some people write so negative comments about all this. WHY? Is it because they are so uninformed they just don't know what they'd seen? Is it because they're so uneducated they do not know how to appreciate and judge right? Or is it because they're just "British Haters"? Maybe "Western Civilization Haters"? You know, those tribes hating all having to do with pogress and high level and culture and values and honour and pride etc etc.

C'mon Englishmen and British Ladies, get on the Web and post some honest comments!

Although I'm not that interested in the games,  It's so good to see the support for Great Britain. Please may i ask that you support  GB when you go shopping. British farmers and British Industry would also like some support.  Thanks.

The person that decided that beach volley ball should be an Olympic sport should be Knighted.

Why are there so many empty seats.  It is outrageous that the seating prices were so high goes to show the world.  I've enjoyed watching on TV but i would have liked to have actually been at an event.  Swimming, womens basket ball, boxing, mens gymnastics, the hoorse riding at Grennwich it is absolutely disgusting that there are so many empty seats.

Did anyone hear Paul McCartney sing out of time at the start of Hey Jude? Think he needs to step down & let other younger singers have a chance - he's past it! Thought the finale needed a better finish. the industrialisation  process was brilliant as was the NHS part. Danny  Boyle did us proud!

Empty seats, I gave up trying to get tickets to the Olympics, rubbish official website can't buy them from other sites and this is the end result, empty seats.  The opening ceremony was amazing, my taxes helped pay for the privileged few to see this live but all the same I was happy with the TV footage but to see this picture has just driven home the sad facts that there will probably be more empty seats at the end of the day than filled over all events and I am no longer interested or watching because it was not possible for me to attend because a stupid ballot, a corrupt Travel Company ramping prices and cons left right and centre.  The Olympics will always be tarnished, the promises hollow and the lies and deceit rife.  Sad picture sums up FAILURE.

Now you have just got to admit that opening was really something. We are telling the rest of the world how great we are and have been all throughout history. Now if our so called politicians could maybe get the situation of our economy right and withdraw from the E.U. then just maybe we could shout for joy whole heartedly.Do your best G. B. team we back you all.

like the games, but taken from us by multi nationals, coca cola/ mc donalds, etc. far too many tight rules.you cant even have a shop displaying donuts in the shape of the rings! many other silly restricting rules, like you cant take photos in or near the games unless you are press.prices exclude many working familys too.

Millions of us can't afford to go but we can still support and enjoy by watching the coverage. It's the same in all host countries. Come on lighten up.

i think that the crowd fiasco is pathetic due to the tosspots running the ticket sales, once again making huge proffits are the gold medals in this olimpics, surely the public should have been given huge amounts  of tickets first, the crowds should stay away to teach them a lesson, GREAT RIPOFF BRITAIN. gold EVERYTIME.

Come on GB people....please stop knocking the effort the UK has made with the opening ceremony. America has had the highest number ever of people tuning in and they are loving it! Lots of comments regarding how great its been...so lets maybe try to back the UK instead of moaning?

Kikkos Papadopoulos i couldnt have said it better myself as a UK citizen, born and bred with a family tree going back to the 1600s if not before. love British history too.
i admit i did not expect anything as good as Beijing put on but this was spectacular in a different way. and very much British.
2 complaints..
1.as others have said. please could the Queen at least LOOK as if she was enjoying it. i know it was a long ceremony and shes not so young now but a smile takes no real effort.(unless she wasn't feeling very well of course.)
2. an absence of disabled and paraplegic attendance and involvement and why didn't the para Olympians take part in the athletes parades? apart from the deaf children's choir who were very good, and the appearance of Mohammed Ali who, bless him, didn't appear to know what was happening or what to do., there was nothing else that alluded to or involved any other disabilities yet with their own Olympics coming up they should have been involved in the opening ceremony.

Clearly by the way things have been going, taking credit etc., Coe and Cameron invented the Olympics!
