ExCeL is one of the largest and most versatile exhibition centres in Europe and is part of a 100-acre complex which also includes on-site Docklands Light Railway stations, parking for 3,700 cars, six on-site hotels, bars and restaurants, as well as easy access to the Jubilee Line for the Tube and London City Airport. For London 2012, however, the centre's five arenas have been adapted to host seven different Olympic sports - with 82 gold medals being awarded at the venue during the Games.
