Opened in 1934, Wembley Arena has gained a reputation for hosting big music and sporting events. The venue was the setting for the prestigious All England Badminton Championships between 1957 and 1993 and the sport returns to the arena for the 2012 Olympics - with the World Championships having taken place there in 2011 to act as a test event. The rhythmic gymnastics competitions will also be staged at Wembley Arena, which is situated in north London in the shadow of Wembley Stadium.
